hand drill bit recommendation?

Hey all,

I'm looking for a good 3/8" bit for limestone and granite.  I know at least a few of you guys have put bolts in by hand and I'm wondering if you could make a recommendation.

The bolts will be primarily for replacing anchors, but I might eventually put in a few routes on lead on limestone at least.

i bought a Petzl RocPec drill, so it accepts all SDS bits.

thanks,

Apologies

All,

Several days ago some friends and myself hung an inflatable Coors can off the top of a difficult new route in the Main Fork of Hyalite after we had been climbing on the route all day.  We wanted it to be a sort of practical joke, and that if you could climb the route then the can was yours... Considering the praise the new route had gotten we didn't think it would stay on the climb very long.

Almost a Montana classic! Bizzare on the order of "Cottonmouth" this yet unnamed grade 4, WI3+ flow comes pouring out from a collection of boulders with low angle gullies on either side of the climb. Short but sweet and wide the climb is only about 150' long, unfortunately this climb is more about the approach than the climb.

Kandersteg, Switzerland

After a trade show in Munich I took the night train to meet up with Tim Seipel, a Bozeman climber living in Zurich. He is studying for his PhD in Biology. His wife Katie works as a substitute teacher.

Kandersteg is Switzerland's premier ice locale. Lots of steep stuff on good limestone. This year was a banner year.

This is 'Crack Baby' a fun route similar to the Terminator in Canada.

Here is your opportunity to help two great programs: the Alex Lowe Charitable Foundation and MMA's Junior Mountaineering Team; and get great instruction from one of the best.  The program will only be open to four lucky folks and right now we have spaces open, so you could potentially get in for just $200.

Looking for climbers to photograph

So, I'm a photographer from near Seattle, hanging out in Bozeman for a month or so, and am looking for people to take pictures of while they climb or ski. If I get some good stuff I'll be submitting them to climbing, skiing, and other outdoor magazines, and maybe sending them to various gear companies for advertising. I'll ask you to sign a model release, and in return you will get copies of some of the pictures (for personal use only). I'm mainly looking to shoot people on harder stuff (like WI 5 or harder, or tricky mixed).

Hello, I'm seeking beta for Hilgard Peak in the Madison Range - difficulty, gear needed, etc. Also looking for partner(s) for a possible ascent this summer. It's the higest peak in Montana outside the Beartooths. Thanks Phil Knight
