Ok Everyone,

I know there was lots of folks up Hyalite this weekend poking around on the ice. What did you all find? Or not find? Remember, the more we post on this site, the better it is for all of us. Spreads us around, pounds trails into the routes, etc, etc. Share the wealth. Eager minds want to know!

Thanks in advance!

corner climbs and mummy cooler were thin but mummy two and the scepter looked pretty good considering. direct trail from wheelchair trail loop aswell as the round-about trail are in. ill be up checking out crpyt-orchid tommorow. safe climbing all!!

A friend from the Seattle area and I drove over sat afternoon and went to check out High Fidelity.  We had a good time wallowing in the snow up the gully and found the first pitch not in or even close.  It made for fun mixed wallowing though!  2nd pitch was in but not nearly as much as this time last year.  Ran out of day light and didn't see the third pitch.  Sunday was great. Did some solo laps on lower green sleeves, hangover, and G2.  Green sleeves is thin but good ice and fun.  Hangover was thin overall, but fun.  The piece up in the trees is really good and we saw two parties on the right hand mixed chimney and ice step.  G2 is good.  Lower half is solid and thick, top step is thin but pretty good ice.  Overall a great couple of days and we were pretty unhappy about heading home.

My partner did lose his camera on monday (11/16) some place between G1 and the parking lot.  If anyone finds one, please let me know.

Dano and I plowed our way up to Strong Persuader on Saturday.  Lot of sloggin' in snow but a super nice pitch.  Really fun climbing.  Get it while the trail is in...it wonders a bit but is not TOO bad.  Sunday we checked out the standards in the Genesis Area...G1, G2, Greensleeves, and the Hangover Variation.  All were good.

went up yesterday and was happy to find the road plowed al the way the grotto fall trailhead. hike up the direct way to mummy ll area. the septer looked good but the mummy ll had deteriorated up top since sunday. we hike on to the crypt orchid. it was a little thin to the lclimbers eft, but really fun to the right with some stemming moves and cool looking wet ice. ice pro was ok but bring stubby's or be prepeared to tie of screws. it continued up and around to the right about 20 meters.  a tree about 20 feet climber left of the top of the ice has a new sling and rap ring. happy climbing

Cool Seth!  Any pics?  I always thought there were routes to the left-out the roof and a one to the right-thin looking if I remember.  What did you think?

Rich Searle

I don't remember any line on the right but for sure saw a nice mixed line on the left.  Easy ice to a big roof, looks like M7 or so?  but who knows.

If anybody that was at the base of Champagne last Sunday the 15th picked up a black stuff sack with Marmot gloves, a wet (probably frozen) arcteryx T-shirt and I think an old grey Patagonia light shell, please email me or call 581-2902. Getting old and unable to see like I used to with all the extra gear at the base of the route. Thanks.

AO,

I didn't find your stuff sack, but I found a walker (yellow tennis balls cut in half on the feet) that I think is yours.  I returned it to Spring Meadows, they said you can claim it before Bingo tomorrow.

Grotto Falls appears to be comming in nicely.  The right side is forming up and should lend itself to some ascents once conditions allow.  There was a well packed boot trail almost to the base of the flow and hopefuly folks will keep at least a trail packed as winter progresses.

Arch falls is not forming nearly as well as grotto is.  The water is flowing pretty hard and I am hoping that later in the winter, the water flow will be less and it will form up a little better.  I've only been able to climb on/near it once and I got really soaked.  Well, my gore text got really wet but I stayed dry.

Swing hard, stay strong..

Friday the Sceptre was still flowing pretty good so we tr'd it. All formed up and Good fun hooking. Did lower greensleeve and hangover right on sunday afternoon. good ice all around. Cooler weather coming - enjoy. - Olin

Climbed Horsetail Falls Saturday Nov, 28.  Top of 10' of second pitch is thin tube 1"-3" thick in most sections but it is forming nicely. Climbed The Comet and The Astroid on Monday, Nov 30th.  Both were in very fat.  The base pillar of the Comet is touching down and solid.

Hey man i think i found your camera down by the base of G1, let me know what type it is and I will ship it out to you.
