Dialetric Breakdown and snow conditions
Climbed Dialetric yesterday (Sunday) under beautiful, blue-bird skies! The ice was still touching all the way down, although a bit more thin than the pictures posted here. With the warm temps it was dripping ever so slightly but I don't think it will be around much longer.
We hiked up to land of the lost from the top of Dialetric and found interesting snow. Several thin ice crusts separated by a few inches of facets. the top 7 inches were really heating up with the sun. Didn't experience any collapsing but, regardless, we roped up for a couple snow traverses . Land of the Lost is beautiful right now, and in the sun we climbed sans shirt!!! Great day!
