sunday afternoon

if anyone was out climbing in hyalite yesterday (sunday) they will really understand what it was like. we arrived late in the morning to the trailhead and stepped out into gloriously hot sunshine. traditional clothing was definetely a poor choice, so chris, becca and i, stripped down to our skiveys. i never thought i would really enjoy walking or even climbing in tights, (long underwear in our situation) but i quickly became quite fond of the strange looking, but very comfortable item. we made our way up to the sunny west side of the valley, by then only sporting a single pair of cutoff long johns, no shirt, and a bula headband. to the average climber up there,. we probably looked like a real bunch of winners, but we were comfortable as hell. becca got her first lead on ice on the fat one, and all three of us soaked up wonderful mountain sun rays for the rest of the afternoon. i think i got a better tan up there than spending an entire day on the beach. tell you the truth, i enjoyed myself thoroughly climbing in the conditions that existed, it was the first time i had ever climbed ice shirtless AND pantless. until another cold front passes through, i remain, a lover of climbing in tights, ben nobel
