Elevator Shaft Anchor

I put in a new anchor on Elevator Shaft yesterday.  Climb to the flat bench at the 35M mark and look left.  You can't miss it.  This route is now top-ropeable with a 70M cord.

Thanks Adam,

Was this made possible with donation from the SWMCC or out of your own pocket?

One more route and reason to run long ropes.

Adam and I had gone up in November to replace this anchor but the drill died in the minus 20 and we didn't get it done. Thanks Adam for finally getting up there. I've been wanting to do this for years now. That tree at the top is not long to this world. Conrad, FYI, I personally bought all the anchor materials. One 1/2 inch bolt with chain and quick link equalized to a Metolius rap hanger on a 3/8" bolt, all in good rock. At least that is what we had sorted out in November. I'm not sure if that is what Adam ended up putting in.

Wow, thanks for replacing that anchor. Small trees make up a good portion of our anchors around here, and not all of them are secure.

The SMCC didn't actively contribute ahead of time to this anchor replacement, but safety and quality are top priorities.

I set up a contact form on the SMCC website so folks can let us know when an anchor is bad:

and a group of folks that reviews and replaces anchors (Skyler Pauli, Aaron Hjelt and Tom K). The SMCC just likes to make sure new anchors safe and well-placed- hey, that's the whole idea, right?

Thanks again for the replacement, Adam!
