March 12-13 in Hyalite

Maybe it's spring break, maybe people have had enough, maybe people don't think the ice is anygood when it's 50+ degrees in Bozeman but myself and a few friends just spent both Saturday and Sunday at G1 in perfect, beautiful conditions with no one there. Not a single other party there. All day. No one. Not even one walking by. The ice is great with G1 showing architecture and fun lines that I've never seen. There are even fast forming pillars where you can get fresh tracks.

Have been seeing some folks in the parking lot. Black Magic got climbed on Saturday (they even said it was dry). Come and Get It is in. Roman Candle, Expanding Horizons, Good Looking One, Jeffs' Left and RIght, Magically Delish, Bulldog World, and all the other moderates on the left side of Unnamed are in and look good. I suspect even Thrill is Gone is good as long as you get to it early.

Mustache Ride is in and the rest of the Corner Climbs are good. Was at Dribbles last week and it's in fine form. Cleo's appears to have gotten "hard" again since the no-hands rest groove up the left side is now filled in and it's one big curtain. Looks awesome.

Two weeks left until the road closes and there is lots of great ice to be had up Hyalite.  I"m certain with longer sunnier days some climbs in the gulllies could become suspect and or require a super early start and getting out of them before mid-day but if you use your head there is tons of fun ice to be had up Hyalite. I'm going to be hitting it as much as I can. Hope to see you up there.

Cheers!
