Conditions Report

The season is winding down, but the ice is in great shape up Hyalite and around...lots of snow as well.  Did Dribbles to Responsible yesterday and found good, albeit thin climbing on Dribbles.  Responsible was in good shape...the left anchor is under ice but I put in a thread.  Avalanche Gulch looked really nice although I didn't see the bottom pencil.  Went up to the Tusk last week for a ski-climb day.  It is in, but there is some non-trival avy terrain to get to it.  Settled for some awesome skiing as the slope just before the climb seemed unstable.  Nice looking little climb though.

Was in Cooke City about a week ago...things are good there as well.  Hydromonster was super fat and easy. Dancing with the Hippo looked fat.  Petrified Dreams appeared to be in and rad.  We spent 4 hours approaching it before turning back.  Does anyone have any approach beta?  Everytime we were forced to ditch the skis we sunk in up to our necks in snow.

After the Hyalite Road shuts down Casey Peak Falls is a really cool little 4+. Awesome, unique views of the Helena area...a bit of a slog in, but we put in a boot pack last week.  Given its aspect it should stay good for another couple weeks.

Enjoy it out there!
