We installed the Hyalite weather station on top of Flanders Mountain last week (in the rain - bad for assembling wx stations, good for making ice).  It measures temp, RH, ave. wind speed, max wind speed, and wind direction at 9900 ft.

The graphs may not have updated to the current time.  If not, go to the link just above the temp and RH graph that says "Click HERE if the graphs have not updated recently."

This and other weather stations were purchased by the Friends of the GNFAC.  They provide funding for installation and maintenance of these weather stations including the yearly bill for satellite service to transmit data to a remote server.  Support for this weather station and others is also provided by the Gallatin National Forest.  Consider supporting the Friends by attending this year's PowderBlast on Oct. 28th.  Food, beer, music, raffle, silent auction, and lots of fun.

Good luck with early season ice hunting!

I just want to say thanks to the Friends of the GNFAC and to everyone else who contributed.  The hard work is recognized and greatly appreciated.  Keep up the good work.  I hope to see you all out and about this winter season.

Cheers.
