Flanders Conditions

We skied up Flanders drainage on our way to the weather station on Tuesday, December 6.  Champagne was in; Killer Pillar was huge; Bobo Like was not in, Big Sleep was not in (pillar still had a way to go); Narcolepsy was dry.

Went into Killer Pillar today.....definitely still HUGE!  Several fun lines can be climbed ranging from WI4 to WI5. Also climbed Women are from Venus, which is an awesome route. Big Sleep still isn't touching on the crux pillar, and Bobo Like is not quite touching down but doesn't look like too much rock climbing until you get established on the ice.

The Champagne climbs are in, as is High Crimes and Misdemeanors. Fact or Flander looks about like I have seen in the past. Flanders Field doesn't look in....unless you like scrappy slab climbing to get to thin ice.

Not sure on Code Red, but if anyone heads up there please post up.

Cheers!

A friend and i are gona climb a few days in Hyalite next week, having only climbed palisade falls and a bunch in the main canyon "Grotto Falls parking area. I'm wondering what the approach times into the Champagne area and Killer Pillar etc.

Is it reasonable to hike or is skis the ticket and how long would each take?

Any and all info is welcome.

Thanks in advance :)

Went up toward Killer Pillar a week or two ago sans ski's/snow shoes and decided that we would rather climb than post hole all day so we re-directed...seems that the windblown snow was the main factor in hampering travel

Skis recommended!
