On Top of Spaghetti... 12-11-05

East Rosebud Update: the snow is deeper than I ever saw it last year. Due to drifting we had to park at the boat launch. It looked like no one had been on the trail since the big week of snowfall. We broke trail and post-holed back to Spaghetti falls. The lower rambling ice approach to California Ice looked to be covered in snow but the main falls, as predicted, looks solid. Most everything else in the canyon looks to be in and in great shape. The left split brought us to this tasty 25m WI5 pitch, which we're calling "the Meatball Pitch." It's probably 1000+ feet above the main Spaghetti pitch. Plan for a full day depending on snow conditions.
