Are there any other books besides the Classic Climbs of the Cordillera Blanca, by Brad Johnson that I should consider getting for a trip down to the Cordillera Blanca. Furthermore, I am thinking of heading down there around May14th-June9th and I am looking for a partner. Bryan

check with Elaho Publication: http://www.elaho.ca I believe it was them who just published a book on the Huaywash. I did not see it on their web site, but you can buy it at Cafe Andino in Huarez. Also, I know of two older books on the Blanca: Yuraq Janka by Ricker and another that escapes me right now - blue cover. The Johnson book is far superior. I wish I was going.

David Sharman has a book, Climbs of the Cordillera Blanca. It is hard to find- I got mine from him directly. You could try him at dsharman@mit.edu. But I agree with Erin, Brad's book has better photos, descriptions, and more accurate. If you want to get together, let me know. I've been down there a couple of times now and might be able to point out a few notable routes, hostels, bars, etc. casey csmith [at] junkfunnel [dot] com 581 0562
