The Beartooth Route Log Book Update

Highlandtraveler beat me out of the gate last week! Well here goes..... The Book A technical route logbook for the Beartooths has been compiled by myself and a collection of climbers from the region. It is by no means complete, nor will it ever be. Currently it documents routes from Beartooth Pass to the West Rosebud drainage. The book will not be published or put on the internet. Aaron Mulkey has a copy at his Core Mountain Sports www.coremountainsports.com store in Cody, WY. Joe Josephson www.firstascentpress.com has a copy for the Livingston Bozeman area, and Jim Rott has a copy at his Steepworld Climbing Gym www.steepworld.com in Billings. Myself, Joel Anderson, joela(at)ctagroup(dot)com, am maintaining the master digital file here in Billings. Like any Log Book, it's only as good as the climbers who use it and evolve it. Submissions can be made at any of the above locations or by emailing me. joela(at)ctagroup(dot)com The usual stats will do, peak, face/feature, grade, party members, date climbed, topo photos, etc. Because it's the Beartooths a couple of caveats exist: A. Due to the nature of the area many routes have been climbed but have not been reported. While significant technical routes may contain fixed gear or rap slings, many do not. Because of this, it may be in your best humility to claim an "early" or "first recorded" ascent. B. It is in the interest of those who have submitted route information to this project, that it not be published or put on the internet. While you are free to do what you please with beta from your route, please respect the wishes above. Share your experiences!
