New dry tooling line

Josh, Tim, and I finished "In the dark"  a direct mixed line just right of white twister.  2 bolts- hand drilled, fixed pin, and rack of cams will see you though.  M7  FFA-2/26/12 Hermes

Crazy Mountain Ice Conditions

Couldn't find the Crazies anywhere else on the site.

Ron and I went out Saturday 12/10/11 and climbed "Duuptakoishe" 160' of ice or so. 5 mile or so walk back up the Rock Creek drainage on the South side of the range. Nice melt freeze flow that is starting to sublimate away. 120' first pitch of 4+, a gully slog and a little 20' pillar of 4ish ice above. You can walk off real easy.

 

In other news... for conditions concerning any of the other climbs up Cottonwood, Big Timber, or Sweet Grass Creek

Pine Creek

Ari and I did Blue and Green Gully yesterday, Sunday November 20th.

Both are in fine shape with great ice although the low angle middle part on Blue is kind of scrappy.

Memorial Day Ice

I don't know if everyone's hung up their crampons for the year, but there's still ice out there if you look. Went for a hike up Pine Creek Trail on Monday (5/30/11) and wished I had stuffed some gear in my pack.  It is winter up there and lots of ice still clinging to the rocks.
