April 27th, 2011. The road doesn't open to cars for another two weeks. Anyone ridden their bicycle up there recently? Considering a bike/ski trip to Blackmore but don't want to put too much effort into the trip if the road is completely full of snow.

I answered my own question.
I answered my own question. I talked to a USFS employee and the road is currently (April 28th) plowed up to Lick Creek. The FS apparently had to drive some 'dignitaries' up there and therefore plowed it. It was suggested that there is about 3' of snow on the road at the resevoir.

How was the road this weekend?
If I drive down from Great Falls in my fuel sipping little car can I get to the trailhead?
Or do I need to drive my big wheel gas-to-noise converting destroyer truck?
I'm thinking Tuesday, the 15th.

It wasn't terrible on sunday evening on the way down. A 2wd rice burner might slip a fair bit, but should make it. Depends if we get more snow tonite.
