Found but I am very confused

I was up the frog Monday after work. Hiked all around. Found a rope, run through two draws attached to anchors, coiled at the bottom. Standard deal I suppose for toping, thing is, this stuff must have been there at least a year. The coil that was weighting down the rope was extremely frayed to the point of looking like a rat nest. Rope faded so bad, hard to tell what color it was. Two draws at the top marked with green on yellow e-tape. To climb around to the top was maybe 5.7, maybe. I cut the rope down and cleaned the draws.
