Hello Ice Climbers, Well it's in. The official appeal with regards to Hyalite ice climbing was received January 31st in the Regional Forester's office in Missoula (the deadline was February 1). The Gallatin National Forest now has 15 days in which to contact the appellants and schedule an informal meeting to negotiate. I believe, these meetings are open to the public. Stay posted. I will post a copy of the appeal for anyone to look at by the end of the weekend.

Jerry Johnson has been working on the economic data. Pete Tapley was a star in front of the KTVM cameras. Emily Stifler has been writing for the climbing mags and web sites. Chris Naumann will be hitting the aisles at the upcoming outdoor industry trade show in SLC. As well, several others have been helping away at various pieces of the puzzle. Thank you all. Many additional people have offered to help.

Hi All, RE: SMCC meeting at Spire Rock Gym Thursday, December 21 at 7:00 pm regarding the proposed travel plan for winter recreation in Hyalite. Thank you everyone that has expressed interest in attending this meeting and to those whom can't make it but have contacted me with their questions and support. Tom Kalakay once again modified the FS doscuments, this time specifically for Thursday's meeting. To help defray our printing costs and to come prepared we ask that you print these out, read them and your bring copies. The ROD document is particularly illuminating.
