On Wednesday, Jan 2nd Sam Magro and I climbed a nice ice flow we had eyed a couple weeks prior while skinning around upper East Hyalite. The first pitch entailed a thin, hollow, blobby smear up to an interesting dagger encounter. Although this dagger was short, it had some wild moves getting around to the front. This pitch was about 35 meters long and WI 5. The next pitch climbed thin and cool mixed ground into a snow and ice gully with rock steps. Very alpinish. 70 meters, M4. Both pitches had thought provoking gear, but decent at the crux dagger.
