Cold Weather Climbs

Hello arctic cold masochists, There is a climb over by Sheridan, MT (between Twin Bridges and Virginia City) that is a nice alternative in cold weather, if you simply insist on getting out. It's called "Smuggler's Seep." I ran out of pages to include it in Winter Dance but I have posted a downloadable PDF with all the info on the "More Beta" section of my web site: www.firstascentpress.com. This climb gets a lot of sun so is only really "in" during or just after a cold spell. It's a very pretty climb and pretty easy climbing, so any brittle ice is more manageable than on, say Cleo's. Enjoy. Other nearby cold weather possibilities: "Cotton Mouth" in the Bridger Range. Might be a fun ski in (and out) right now. Also posted at "More Beta." This route has no avalanche hazard. "Osprey Falls" near Mammoth. This one has a complicated, but not hard, approach and is not yet posted on the More Beta pages. I was in there earlier this season and will be putting together the info soon. Email me if you are interested about info sooner. Cheers, JoJo
