To all late season searchers: Ted Olsen, from Bellingham, and I, a former Bozemanite, spent an incredible few days up Hyalite. Here's what we've seen (I'd post pictures but am intimidated by doing it- look for them in the next couple days maybe). Granted, these are only the ones we've visited, a few comments on those we haven't. We had an excellent time, Hyalite! Cheers goes out to Ted, Mel, and Ken, for hangin' in there this last week. Flanders Bobo like- no first pitch, upper looks great Champ. n Slot n High Crimes- Fat, high crimes shedding snow showers freq. Killer Piller - nightmare ice, but REALLY fat, snow showers freq. Code Red - looks in Narcolepsy, etc, no idea. Palisades (we scoped from the road) Palisade Falls - ? Alpha - chubby and sublimated Omega - thin, but touching down on Thursday Main Fork Come n Get it - more ice 'n i've seen her have before Black Magic - dissapeared daily, now it's simply a whisper of ice Thrill is Gone - in the best shape i've ever climbed it (saturday) Bingo/Bulldog - No chance of touching again this year, route has formed far right of Bulldog bolt line The Good Lookin' One- touching (can you believe it?) 5+, softer by the day (Unamed wall is all pretty in) Elevator Shaft - In, expect to poke through to water Cleo's Needle - In, and healthy, broke a new trail to it (and we haven't good aim- watch out), she sheds for an hour+ after noon. 5 and buldgy at top Antony's Wicked - seems as close to Joe's description of 'in' as it could be Matriarch - VERY healthy, but won't last if much sun since monday, give 'er a week tops? Also shedding bombs early afternoon Twin - In, of course, and snowy Horseman of Apocalypse- not quite fat, but there! Responsible - In Mummy 4 - doesn't touch, (usual), didn't get a close look-see G2/Ampitheater/Crypt - all there Matrix - we forgot to look Scepter - big n fat n fun n hooky Hangover/etc - those all LOOK like they are in Hope this helps encourage anyone thinking the season is over Which brings to mind, when begins open season on hunting snowmobiles? Seems like those giant herds could use some culling... Scott
