The SMCC is doing trail work on June 2nd. Originally, the location was proposed to be the trail to the Bozeman Pass crags, but it has now been moved to the Waltz trail in Gallatin Canyon. See details below:
Dear Friends,
Once again Trail Day is nearly here. This Saturday, June the 2nd, SMCC will work on the trail to the Waltz Buttress in Gallatin Canyon. The Waltz trail receives an enormous amount of use. In some places the trail is badly eroded and in others it is indistinct.
We will meet at the parking lot at the 35 MPH bridge at 9 am. Tools will be provided, courtesy of the Forest Service, as will refreshments, courtesy of SMCC. Bring gloves, boots, and a good attitude.
Please come and help out. Trail building and repair is one of the most vital activities that SMCC sponsors. It has a direct impact on the quality of our collective climbing experience and also strengthens our working relationship with Forest Service Administrators. As past Trail Days have shown, with more people present the work becomes easier and we have a lot more fun!
If possible, please RSVP to:
Tom Kalakay, tkalakay@bridgeband.com, 587-4605 or Geoff Heath, torngateng@gmail.com
See you there,
Geoff Heath, SMCC trails coordinator
