Yesterday (3/28) Matt Steen (mtnmanmatt), Dylan Taylor, and I (Kevin Brumbach), headed up above the Dribbles to check out a climb tentatively called, "The Climb Right of the Climb Left of the Climb Above the Dribbles". I spotted this flow a couple weeks ago and couldn't find any info about it in Winter Dance or from talking with a few folks. It is located just right of the Climb Left of the Climb Above (see photo), and was barely touching down yesterday. I would say it is about 30 meters to the top of the climbing, but then another 20m of traversing to a tree belay.
I am not sure exactly how I would grade it, but it begins with very steep and fragile climbing off the ground, then steep with a couple awkward rests throughout. My partners and I felt it was either hard WI4 or easier WI5, but very fun none the less and in a spectacular setting high up in Hyalite!!
ALthough there is not much time left and the snow falling outside will make the approach quite dangerous, I definitely recommend trying it out!
Feel free to post if you have any questions or comments. If it has been done before I would love to hear about it, and if not we would like to propose an official name/grade to it. "The Last Hurrah", 30m, WI4+/5-". By the way a two rope rappel is necessary.
