70 m ropes are quite handy in Hyalite - for "The Thrill is Gone" and "Come and Get It" a 70 allows one to rappel single rope to the deck.
To add to the seventy - refic set up, Scott Creel and I drilled a belay on climbers left on Mummy II. The rock is solid and the bolts are two equalized 1/2 " x 4 " blue sleeves. The rappel is 34 meters. This will allow two parties to top rope on the wide apron. This will save some of the v threads that get built into the ice over the course of the winter that get rope on webbing (dangerous) wear.
Before you guys roast me - this was done with the permission of the first ascentionist Pat Callis and makes for a safer climbing environment.
Ask for a seventy next time you purchase an ice rope.
As a disclaimer -
always always always tie knots in the end of your rap lines.

Nice work Conrad. A few of us have talked about this for years so thanks for going up and taking the time and effort. And in terms of anyone roasting you, I'm reminded of a saying I often use, "Those that matter, get it. Those that don't get it, don't matter." ;-)
See you up there!

Conrad,
Thanks for thinking about the bigger population. Your efforts are making climbing safer for all around.
