road conditions?

Hello from Missoula! I am wondering what the current road conditions into Hyalite are. If someone could give me an update I would really appreciate it! Thanks

Hi Kam, The road to Hyalite Canyon is good! I think a 4 WD, low clearance vehicle would be sufficient to get to the parking lot. For example, older 4WD Subaru would probably do just fine. 2 WD vehicles not would not be OK. Have fun and good luck!

I took my low clearance, AWD with Blizzac tires up to Hyalite yesterday. The a.m. was fine but the evening - about 5:30 p.m. - was epic! After warming up during the day, it was slippery as snot. It seemed even more so than it was before the last storm, when it was mostly ice. On some of the slanted curves between Window Rock and the Dam going about 5 mph, I almost slid sideways right off the road. Good luck and drive slow!
