Ice/Road Conditions

Hoping to make one last trip to climb around second week of April. Just wondering how the road to parking area is and ice conditions. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Well, wish I could help, but road conditions change so fast, it's hard to tell. I would say you wouldn't have a problem though, as long as we don't have some huge dump between now and then. As for ice, I think you'll be in the clear, stay tuned to the site for more info as time goes by.

Road this weekend (April 8-10) was pretty wicked. It's sloppy once you get passed the bridge. I pulled out a Subi and a 4-runner on the way down sunday. Drive carefull, and with any reasonable 4wd, you can make 'er. Have fun!

Thanks for the road conditions, where did you climb? Is there much climbable ice left. Trying to decide if the 5hr drive from would be worth it or not.

Baker, I played around in the Amphitheater, all the climbs there were pretty fun. Saw a bunch of guys on The Fat One, which looks like it is still well in. There is still lots of climable ice, but I can't be more specific, all the snow this weekend made it kinda hard to tell from a distance... Hope this helps!
