Finally did Solstice today and regret not having done it sooner. Quality mixed line on great rock and well worth the wallow to get to it - there's now a good trench off the Cleo's trail. First pitch ~35m, photo by "BrumBrown"...

that route looks very cool
that route looks very cool ... I don't think I have done it in past. ( I Thought i had, but,... my memory is notoriusly bad for routes ...)
Anyway, how is that route for sun exposure? I don't mind doing a sunny route in cold temps, but in warm temps like today ( I was in shorts and T-shirt at allenspur today, sun, Feb 22... nice!) , I am suspect.
Not that 6 am in Hyalite is like 3 pm at Allenspur. The same climb can be good to go at different times of day. I am just wondering, what were the temps like at the time you all were on the route.
Man, though that route looks cool! I think KEphoto did it during the ice breaker .
Hey Jim - the route gets
Hey Jim - the route gets early morning sun. We were at the base by ~10am and I had sun while climbing until I was close to the top (above the skyline in the photo).
My partner quickly lost the sun which was blocked by an outcrop on the rockband, and which shades the tree belay at the top.
These rock climbing temps we're having this week will probably take out quite a bit of the ice, but again the rock is great...
Sun on that side of the canyon
Right, Right, that makes sense! It's on the same side of the canyon as Cleo, gets AM sun.
Anyway, this week it looks like a return to cooler temps, and cloudier. It should be in stellar shape!
Again, nice job, nice lookin' route.
P.S. sorry about the downtime on the site last night and this AM- bleary-eyed upgrading to drupal 6.9...
