Greetings,
We have an outdoor boulder on the Langhor Trail near the community gardens. It is a nice fitness option and quite an attraction for children. It was built with private donations, donated time and materials and a state grant . Ron Dingman, who runs Parks and Rec in Bozeman has been very pleased with the structure and the people who come to pull down.
Given the success of this Bozeman Parks and Rec is interested in building an additional three boulders around town. Each boulder would mimic a type of rock. Imagine a circuit!
The challenge is funding these boulders. The Langhor boulder cost 17 K. As these benefit climbers we need to take the lead in getting them built.
I'm keen to get started on a new one and am looking for people to help. The first step is to see if we can find grants. Is anyone interested in helping out? If we get enough momentum we should plan a meeting.
Post up.
Thanks
Conrad

Superior Bouldering Option
Visited the new boulder yesterday. It is SO much more diverse than the previous boulder in Langhor. It's larger and has some very tough options on it. There are aretes, cracks of varying size, real rock holds, a chimney and more. It looks great!

If your first boulder was
If your first boulder was very much liked by the people than you must use the same material or should add something new like polished concrete to give it a newer and better look. It will attract people and will be charming as well.
