Green Gully

Climbed the green gully on 1/6. The climb is fully in although it is not quite as fat as seen in the winter dance book. Also there was evidence of slides rolling off above the climb (something to keep in mind with new snow). The ice was solid and there had appeared to be three other groups that climbed before me (screw holes). Best of luck josh

I saw green slide on Wednesday(Feb1st), it sounded like a jet engine across the valley! It even sent a impact plume back into the air after it cascaded over Green. Also of note is that we watched it continue to load back up after it slid. Watch out for those windy days if your going for the gullies! Spencer

The snow in Pine Creek seems to have solidified some with the recent warm days and cool nights; so it seems a lot less is being blown around and loading.

Both Green and Blue were in great shape on 2/9. Green was plastic and wet for the first 3/4 with the last bit brittle but beaten out. Blue was a bit brittle but fat. Also of note was a possible new route climbed about 200m right of Green (about 1/2 way between Green and Brain Cramp) on the same level of the cliffband. This 30m line follows a thin, narrow ribbon of WI 3 ice to some scrappy mixed terrain to a large belay tree which required some tree surgery to set up a belay and get a rap sling around. Bring stubbies and some small-med nuts and cams. Anybody know anything about this line? It is obvious from certain points on the trail, but I've never noticed it in past seasons.

Dave Willey and I did a thin line a couple weeks ago, it too finished at tree. we moved off climbers right and placed a rap sling on a tree. this line was halfway between Green and Brain Cramp at about the same level as the start of BC.
