the road driving up to hyalite is more like riding in a boat that a car. fortunately we can still drive there though. if you are willing to give your shocks a real workout, driving is definelty still doable.
went up to the dribbles area and found nice ice but poor avalanche conditions. each step on the first pitch were cracking and whomping while climbing. a look accross the valley to behind maid in the mist shows an avalanche spreading the entire way accross that bowl behind maid. on the descent down avalanche gully, a deadly avalanche ripped through right as we were about to rappell. with a little added comfort that it had already slid, we proceeded quickyl down. as we were pulling the ropes after the second rap, another slide, probably 2 to 3 times as big as the first came down just feet away from our scurrying bodies.
no one was hurt, just lucky, i guess.
be careful late in the afternoon, but get out there things are FAT!
come and get it is almost touching down.
bingo world broke off.
