Ice Conditions

Went for a long walk up to Twin on Saturday. Would have S#%! myself if I could have been able to use the gear I brought with to be perfectly honest. More a trip to see the general conditions. RFM, Rocket Boy, Dribbles, Mummy 4, Zack Attack, Cleo's, climbs below Winter Dance and Winter Dance itself, all starting to form something - although nothing looked climbable. I have only been climbing Hyalite for five seasons now, but it seems this season has the potential for a far greater year than anything I have seen in the past. The amount of general moisture throughout the summer as well as a good blast this fall has created the foundation to see cetain climbs come in that we have not seen for a long time. I would like to take this opportunity to mention a issue that has been brought to the table in years past Please respect the fact that others climb the ice in Hyalite also, not just you... Wait for the routes to mature into a state that can support other climbers rather than trying to be Jonny Rad-Boy and demolishing the ice with one whack of your tool... Climbing is freedom, thats why we do it... I don't want to take any future aspirations away from any one climber. If there is a good chance at leveling the climb that forms once in a blue moon, WAIT, think about it, and your fellow brothers and sisters who have waited soooo long to climb it...

Thanks for the info on the ice! Although, I think the second portion would be better suited in the SPRAY column. cheers, Josh
