I'm wanting to learn to ice climb and may have the winter off, due to the awesome economy! anyways I'm wondering where you fine folk might recommend to set up shop for a season and get my skills down. Is Ouray, CO the only decent place to go and consistently find partners. any advice is helpful also what type of tools would you guys recommend I"d like to go with an all around tool for WI and alpine.

CLEANUP @ HYALITE

Submitted by verticalpope on Thu, 03/25/2010 - 16:48

Howdy all,

On Tuesday, March 30th there will be a cleanup before the Canyon closes for the spring.  Whoever wants to participate will meet at ten-thirty am at Grotto Falls parking lot.

We'll break into teams, and leave to different climbing areas around the canyon and pick up whatever trash we can find.

At Three-thirty we will reconnoiter at the Bingo Cave for a party and some mixed climbing fun!!

If you want to contribute with planning, garbage bags, ideas, (I was thinking a BBQ at Bingo), please PM me.
