Dry-tooling Tower in Booze-mon Ice Fest

So, would it not be cool to have an artificial dry-tooling tower in downtown Boooze-mon during the Bozeman Ice Festival? I was in Chamonix in February for the Nissan Outdoor Games, they had a tower for the athletes to compete/climb on with plastic holds for dry-tooling and ice features created from ice mined from the artificial ice-tower at Gorzderette.

Does anyone know what conditions are like in the Tetons at present as of 6 July. In particular might Run-Don't-Walk Coulior on Mt. owen be in shape? I understand there was a big snow year there and things are running "late" as the massive snowpack comes down. Thanks... Rob

If you are looking for sharper screws, you can go to Grizguides.com and a guy in Frisco, Colorado will sharpen them for $8 a piece and send them to you good as new. I got 10 sharpened in a week turnaround time and am amazed after trying to sharpen them for so many years myself. Great service and now is a good time to do this.

Congrats to Kristoffer & Whitt!

Hey! I was just reading in the Feb 08 edition of Climbing Magazine (pg 36) about their FFA of Winter Dance, WI6+ R M8. Very impressive! I don't know either of you guys, but I just wanted to say congrats for sending such an epic line and getting your names in the magazine. You guys should post some photos or write a TR on the experience. I'd love to hear more about how you did it! Congratulations~ -brett.

PROTECT YOUR EYES!!!

I'm putting in my plug for the importance of eye protection! This week I had a small piece of ice shoot sideways and hit me right in the pupil. The resultant sleep depravation is enough to make me confess to any crime, (four hours total in three nights.) and the pain is like nothing I've ever experienced! If that's not enough, at the moment I can barely see out of the injured eye. I don't want anyone else to go through this. Wear sunglasses or a visor. It's cheap protection! I'll never climb without eye protection again!
