Madison, Gallatin, Absaroka Mountain Ranges
Post notices here of climbing outside Hyalite Canyon, but still in the near area: The Sphinx, Pine Creek, Mission Creek, etc.
Tired of climbing the same routes?
Just thought I would pass on some info that Mission falls and several of the other routes in Mission creek are in and very enjoyable. Park on the county road and walk the 1 mile into the parking lot. There is a large drift not far down the road and the owner of the 63 ranch can be very "dificult" if you park on the access road that crosses his property.
Its thin but still a beautiful walk for a fun climb. Good one to bring the dogs along. Some more cold weather wouldnt hurt it. I have pics but cant uplaod them, ill try again later.
I hope everybody has got a big stoke for this season! Unfortunately, Global Warming has been taking its toll and the streak of 3 banner years in a row has come to an end. I've included some quick pictures of some of your CODY WYOMING WORLD FAMOUS ICE CLIMBING CLASSICs:
These pictures were taken this weekend!
Ended up just taking the dog for a walk today. GREEN Gully looks sporty, Blue is actually still red from all the willows and complete lack of ice, lower Pine Creek falls is still falling freely, however the right (or south) lower Pine Creek falls gully had ice.
