No Ice in Finley as of Turkey Day

Submitted by infinitymountain on Fri, 11/23/2007 - 13:01
I went to Finley yesterday and there is nothing to climb. Just thought I would save everyone else the trouble. I will keep updates on my website. www.infinitymountain.com when the ice starts to come in. Oh and the road now has some trees hanging over and blocking it in some spots so be aware if it snows more. The upper parking area is completely blocked by a big tree.

Missoula Ice????????/

Submitted by Kent on Thu, 11/22/2007 - 10:53
Howdy Folks, Anyone from the Missoula area been out to the Bitterroots or the Missions in search of ice . . . found any in this exceptionally reliable ice climbing mecca? Been outta town for awhile, but intend to get out there and look for any miniscule formations this weekend or the next. If I find anything I'll post here. Missoula ice climbers should try to start using this awsome forum to communicate with other climbers. We're lucky to have such a good resource and should take advantage of it, even if the climbing isn't as good as over Boze. way. Just a thought Take care

Graineater TR

Submitted by brett on Fri, 02/23/2007 - 14:22
What up all. I thought I would post a TR for the masses to enjoy. My new friend Nick Spang [who comes by way of Seattle] and I went out to Finley Creek for a few pitches of WI 3/4 and my first true multi-pitch water-ice lead. I've been climbing ice a bunch this winter, though mostly on TR. It gave me a good chance to learn good technique and practice swinging my tools.

Pearl Lake?

Submitted by akicebum on Mon, 10/30/2006 - 14:14
I was out around Pearl Lake and saw a bunch of ice and possible mixed lines. Has anyone done much climbing out there? I know I am shooting myself in the foot in first ascent department, but I really just want to go climb some ice and those lines look amazing. I just moved here and I don't really have any good Ice partners. Is anyone down to go exploring?
